Retrieve all metadata related to individual inscriptions and BRC-20 tokens, so that you can display them inside your app.
Get all inscriptions held by particular addresses, so you can build a portfolio view for your users.
Fetch all inscriptions in particular blocks, so you can build an inscription feed.
Pull all transfers in particular blocks, so you can accurately show market data.
The Ordinals API also supports the BRC-20 metaprotocol, which enables fungible tokens to be created on Bitcoin via ordinals inscriptions. Alongside ordinals data, you can leverage endpoints that let you retrieve data on address BRC-20 balances, data on particular BRC-20 tokens, trading activity and more.
We believe in building in public and transparency. We are partners and contributors to the non-profit Layer 1 Foundation, as well as ALEX’s oracle. The Ordinals API itself is entirely open source. We encourage you to contribute to the project and file any bugs you find.
The Ordinals API is powered by Ordhook, our own ordinals indexer. With Ordhook, indexing takes hours instead of days, and you can get consistent, real-time inscription data. Ordhook is open source too, and you can build with Ordhook directly if you want to index Bitcoin yourself.
