The Ordinals API also supports the BRC-20 metaprotocol, which enables fungible tokens to be created on Bitcoin via ordinals inscriptions. Alongside ordinals data, you can leverage endpoints that let you retrieve data on address BRC-20 balances, data on particular BRC-20 tokens, trading activity and more.
We believe in building in public and transparency. We are partners and contributors to the non-profit Layer 1 Foundation, as well as ALEX’s oracle. The Ordinals API itself is entirely open source.
The Ordinals API is powered by our Bitcoin Indexer, our own in-house L1 indexer. This indexer is reorg-aware and will automatically update the Ordinals API database whenever Bitcoin reorgs occur. Our in-house indexer is at the heart of how the Ordinals API is able to deliver reliable data across 150M monthly requests at 99.9% uptime.
