We recently launched a new third-party integration in Hiro Docs with Algolia to improve the search functionality in our documentation. Algolia is a cloud-based search and discovery platform that allows customers (like us) to integrate fast and relevant search functionality into their applications and websites.
Algolia’s robust search engine provides real-time search results with a focus on delivering a seamless user experience. With Algolia, you can quickly search and filter through vast amounts of content, making it a perfect choice for documentation sites like Hiro Docs.
This new search integration comes with a number of powerful features, including:
Real-Time, Search-As-You-Type Results
Algolia's search results are delivered in milliseconds, ensuring you’ll see quick feedback based on your search. As our documentation grows and evolves, Algolia handles real-time indexing, ensuring that your search results are always up-to-date.
Algolia also provides a search-as-you-type feature that provides instant results as users type their query. You may find what you’re looking for before you even finish typing your query.
Search History
Algolia enables search history. Pick up right where you left off and easily find your most recent searches in documentation.
Filtered and Relevant Results
Algolia excels at providing relevant search results out of the box. Its search engine considers various factors like typos, synonyms, and user behavior to ensure that you get the most accurate and helpful results.
Algolia also automatically filters its search results into various categories, be it results for your particular query, results organized by feature guide, tool, and more. Better discoverability, so you can find what you’re looking for even faster.
Let Us Know What You Think
Our hope with this new integration is that you will be able to find what you’re looking for and that Hiro docs becomes a more interactive experience.
If you have any feedback on this feature or documentation in general, please reach out to us on the Hiro-documentation channel on Discord or file a GitHub issue.
